Operating System Management

Nextlink will assign a “project manager” to serve as a contact between customers, data center engineers, and dedicated support resources. Your project manager will oversee the technical setup, optimization, and troubleshooting for the life of your solution. To modify the solution, you can work with your project manager through the customer portal to obtain a consistent and simplified support experience.
Windows Solution

The Windows solution involves a scalable and customizable operating system that is characterized by its simplified deployment and management capabilities. The Windows solution is composed of physical hardware, private or public clouds, or the dedicated and virtual infrastructures. Customers can use online resources, enhanced management solutions, integrated features and virtual tools to save time, reduce costs, and obtain a platform for dynamic and effective management solutions.

Linux/Unix Solution
The Linux/Unix solution involves a scalable and customizable operating system that is characterized by its simplified deployment and management capabilities. The Linux/Unix solution is composed of physical hardware, private or public clouds, or the dedicated and virtual infrastructures. Customers can use online resources, enhanced management solutions, integrated features and virtual tools to save time, reduce costs, and obtain a platform for dynamic and effective management solutions.
Dedicated Contact Person

Based on the analysis of performance measurements, Nextlink consults with customers on strategies for tuning and optimization, including CPU load, memory usage, disk usage, and exchange of monitoring data. Nextlink engineers perform all the acts necessary to maintain these devices, including:

  • Patching and updating

  • Configuration modification

  • Year-round monitoring

  • Performance and availability management

  • Failure analysis

  • General maintenance

Installation and Configuration
Nextlink supports operating systems built on all client servers. The installation is performed based on a default operating system version and the best practices.
Patching Management
Nextlink (HK)recognizes binary fixes provided by the vendor to support operating systems and applications, and instructs certified engineers to install such fixes in relevant solutions for customers. Prior to installation of any operating system updates or patches, Nextlink (HK) will obtain the consent from the authorized representative of the customer. The deployment is done in the appropriate maintenance window (if applicable) and Nextlink will be responsible for updating all basic installations.
Monitoring
The medium that monitors the operating system is also used to determine the system availability and measure the system performance. In addition, transaction monitoring and specific application checks can also be used to determine the availability of the system.
